| General Description: | About the Team: Bay State Select is entering it's second year in the WPSL. Bringing back Brazilian National Star, Daniela, named to the WPSL East First All Star team in 2005 along with fellow Brazilian National Captain, Juliana Cabral, the team will show it's international talent. Captains for the 2006 team are Erica Mastrogiacomo, Syracuse and Liz Lima, Harvard, strong leaders both on the field and off. The leadership of Mastrogiacomo and Lima will drive the team to success. With the roster including top players from Boston College, Boston University, Stonehill, Syracuse and Harvard as well as top players from South Shore Select youth organization we are certain to be a contender in the East. As a club, Bay State Select is partnered with South Shore Select, a premier youth club on the south shore of Boston. Many of our WPSL players take an active role in our youth organization, coaching, refereeing and mentor the future of the club. Our training provides the confidence necessary to best draw the creativity and individual expression that makes great people both on and off the field. We are believers that given the right individual skills our players will be able to compete now and in the future at the highest levels. Our goal is to provide the skills foundation that enables and prepares our athletes to achieve the dreams each aspires to. Our attention to skill development extends beyond the expected individual team training. We also offer an array of clinics to our players who want to focus on building their skills. Special Clinicians include Alison Foley, the head womenÕs soccer coach at Boston College, Jose Gomes, Stonehill College, Head Coach and Nick Palantzas Athletic Director and Head Coach at Massasoit. beyond the expected individual team training. We also offer an array of clinics to our players who want to further better their skills. About the Coaching: Laurindo Lima holds a USSF A coaching license. His background includes Head Coach positions in both the Lasa league and Massachusetts State Team, senior division as well being the founder and Head Coach for Bay State Select. He returns as the Head Coach in the upcoming season. Mr Lima has been a major contributor to the technical skills of youth players on the South Shore of Boston. Many of Mr Lima past players are playing division one soccer at the college level. As a co-founder of South Shore Select, a premier club in Massachusetts, Mr Lima has won 3 North American National Indoor Championships and two Massachusetts State Championships. He contributes to South Shore Select as the Director of Coaching and is the Head Coach for Rockland High School girls program. Jose Gomes, Stonehill College and Nick Palantzas, Massasoit College join Mr Lima on the bench as Assistant Coaches. Type of Players: Brazilian National Team, US National Pool and top level collegiate players Local Colleges: Syracuse, Boston College, Boston University, Harvard, Northeastern and U Mass Player Tryouts: Tryouts are organized by the team and usually go on during the college winter and spring break periods. |
