| General Description: | The Crossfire Premier Soccer Club is based in Redmond, Washington, a few miles east of Seattle, Washington, USA. Crossfire Premier is the Advanced Development Program (“ADP”) affiliated with the Lake Washington Youth Soccer Association (LWYSA), a Non-Profit Organization formed in 1968 and devoted to promoting the game of soccer and serving over 7,500 boys and girls in East King County of Washington State USA. In the 2006 season, the Crossfire Premier Soccer program consists of 47 teams (roughly 700 players), ages U-11 through U-19. We are affiliated with the US Youth Soccer Association (USYSA), which in turn is affiliated with FIFA. The Crossfire Premier Soccer Club provides professional training and player development to qualified players to assist them in advancing to play at the highest levels of play available in the state. Many of the local high school and college teams are chiefly comprised of players who have demonstrated their ability to improve their skills and tactics through Crossfire Premier. Crossfire Premier coaching has produced players that have risen above the Crossfire Premier levels and onto the National Residency Programs in Florida, the U17 and U20 US National teams, and onto careers in the European leagues. There are truly no limits with out club. Mission Statement The Mission of the Crossfire Premier Soccer Club is to promote the game of soccer by providing the highest possible level of technical and tactical training, skill development, competitive team play, and to provide highly skilled and capable players with an opportunity to further excel in the sport. It is Crossfire’s goal to become and to be recognized as a consistently successful Premier Soccer Club within Washington State, within our region, and throughout the United States. Crossfire Players, Coaches, Managers and Member Families will strive to be an asset to the sport of soccer and to the community in which they live. Crossfire History Wayne Crum, Don Baker, and a handful of dedicated volunteers were instrumental in developing the LWYSA Advanced Development Program. (Send us your stories to help us build our Club History pages!) Crossfire Premier has been called by a few different names over its history, but the quality of coaching and play has been consistently of the highest caliber. The principal names the program/club has been known by are: the LWYSA Advanced Development Program (“ADP”); the Lake Washington Soccer Club; and, since 2002, it has been called the Crossfire Premier Soccer Club. (Individual team names were phased out with the renaming of the club, in favor of birth year/coach’s names designations.) Some of the Club Presidents who have helped shape our Club into the pre-eminent Premier Soccer Club in Washington State include Wayne Crum, Rex Lund, Dennis Martin, Bill Hoover, Jim Harnasch, Lance McIntosh and Brian Klein (current club president.) In 1997, Alan Hinton was hired as our first Coaching Director and Jimmy Gabriel was hired as our Recreational Coaching Director. Peter Kirov succeeded Alan Hinton but stepped down in 2002 to devote more time to coaching his individual teams. NW Soccer legend Jimmy Gabriel, a Crossfire Coach, served for a time as Crossfire Premier Head Coaching Director. |
