The gym provides a fully equipped and properly organized training environment that includes: - A full-size elevated ring - Heavy bag section - Double-end bag section - Speed bag section - Mirror section: for shadow boxing and footwork exercises - Open floor area for rope skipping, conditioning exercises, medicine ball, sit-ups, and other training exercises - Expert coaching and guidance. Whether you just want to keep fit, learn to box, spar for fun or prepare for professional license testing and a career in the professional ring, Jack's Gym can provide for all your needs. For those of you who just want the experience of pitting your skills against an opponent in the boxing ring in a formal bout properly supervised by a referee and judged by three judges before a crowd of spectators, Jack's Gym can help you achieve that. You don't have to be a registered amateur or a licensed professional for this to happen. Once every six weeks the Gym puts on an in-house show of exhibition bouts on a Friday evening at 7pm. Gym members who want to participate are matched against suitable opponents. These events have proved popular with Pietermaritzburg boxing fans and are well attended. Jack's Gym is Pietermaritzburg s premier boxing gym! Whether novice or professional, you will feel at home at Jack's Gym and you will be treated like a world champion!
