Highlights

Runner's World Magazine, in May 2003, named Priscilla Welch as the best female masters marathoner - ever! Her masters women's world marathon record of 2:26:51, set in London in 1987, still stands today as it approaches it's 20th anniversary.

Welch's marathon victories included Enschede (1983), Columbus (1984), and New York (1987 - at 42 years of age!). She also recorded top three finishes in London (1984 and 1987), New York (1983) and Chicago (1986).

Diagnosed with breast cancer in October 1992, Welch fought this challenge with the same tenacity that she has shown in her marathon career. Once recovered, Welch returned to competition over 5K and 10K, and did extensive work across the USA for the Komen Foundation's Race for a Cure series.

Today Welch has US Citizenship and lives in Bend, Oregon.
