| General Description: | Van Heerden is one of those hard working forwards who don’t always get the credit they deserve. Heyneke Meyer selected him as his open side flanker in 2007 and although the public didn’t like the call, the coach again proved that it was the right one. Van Heerden did an awesome job on the ground and he played himself into the World Cup squad with his solid defence as well as his ability to make turnovers and to slow down the opposition’s ball. His is the son of the former Springbok lock Moaner van Heerden. |
