Barry Wilson became Livingston’s most expensive ever signing in May 2000 after his arrival from rivals Inverness Caley Thistle in a deal which was reported, at the time, to be worth £100,000. During his time with Caley, Barry helped win promotion twice, winning the Third Division championship in 1996-97 and then coming a close second to Livi in the Second Division (1998-99).

In addition Barry scored one of the Caley goals which sensationally eliminated Celtic from the Scottish Cup last season. Formerly with Raith Rovers and Ross County, Barry also holds a unique distinction in that he scored the last Scottish League goal of the last millennium and the first of the new one. The second goal came in the 1-1 draw between Caley and the Lions at Almondvale on January 3rd 2000.

A right sided player, Barry is versatile in that he is equally at home in the midfield area or in attack. This versatility proved to be useful for Livingston during his first season at Almondvale, as Barry starred out on the wing and as an out-and-out striker.

Barry is arguably at his best in his more accustomed wide position where he uses his skill and pace to good effect, beating defenders and delivering quality service to his attacking team-mates, although later in the First Division championship season he showed his prowess as goal taker than creator, boosting his goal tally to a highly creditable figure of 16 with a late surge

Signed from Inverness Caledonian Thistle in an £60,000 deal. A player with great pace who can play either wide right or through the middle. He scored 16 goals in season 2000/2001 helping Livingston clinch the 1st Division title.
